Sentence correction

About one-fifth of the sentences will be perfectly correct as is. If you read a sentence that sounds okay, it probably is. A tightly worded sentence is generally considered more effective, so, all things being equal, choose the shortest answer. In every case , you should base your answer on the conventions of standard written English. Do not fall into the error of using informal, conversational English as the criterion for answering sentence correction questions. In particular, sentence correction questions measure your knowledge of the following points of grammar:

1) agreement of the subject and verb.
2) parallel construction
3) agreement of pronoun and antecedent
4) correct use of adjectives and adverbs.
5) correct placement of modifiers.
6) coordination and subordination of sentence elements.
7) tense sequences.
use of correct case with prepositions.
9) correct diction (choice of words).
10) proper use of idiom.

practice meterial has been posted many times regarding this. the famaous guides sc section is sufficient for this.
