VADIC MATHS - FIRST LESSON

after getting a good response about vadic maths here is the very first lesson about this.
before starting let me tell you again that its not gona be a cup of tea but yes, we can do this all together.

keeping in mind that "practice makes a man perfect and writting makes a man exact"
we will start our very first lesson.

ok the very first thing we will discuss is squaring a number ending with 5

ok let begin with this (you must be knowing that 5 square is 25 ) ;)

step one: take a number ending with 5.

say, 45.

step two: write the ten's and unit's number 25 without thinking much.

so you have xxxxx25 (doesnt matter how many digits before 25)

step three: take the remaining number before 5 from the original number

in this case its 4

step four: add 1 to this number(step 3) and multiply the number with the number of step three.

means (4+1) X 4 = 20

step 5 : simply put this number(step 4) in front of step 2's 25

means 20 25

and thats your answer 2025

you dont even need a calculator.

now we will try this formula for some more numbers...

lets take 25.....

----- xxxxx25
------ (2+1)X2 = 6
--------- 625

thats the square of 25 :)

lets do this for a bigger number say, 85

------- xxxxx25
------- (8+1)X8 = 72
------- 7225
thats the answer

you can use the same formula for ever number ending with 5.

and now the homework comes......

you should learn the tables.... i know you have done a lot of them in school but its time to revise them

learn from 1X20 to 30X20 or atleast till 20X20

this will help when you solve three and four digit numbers...

let us know if you like this lesson coz this lesson is just the begining and we will do many more

:)

Hi, I am Arjun Pradhan from IIT Roorkee doing my B.tech. I want to do
MBA. So I am preparing for CAT.
I would also like to give GMAT. But i have internal compulsions to first go for CAT. So i would like to give GMAT before CAT 2007. SO i wanted to know how to go about my preparations.
The books to buy or prefer to read. Side by side it will make an excellent condition for my CAT preparation also. Also i eager to work in consultancy firms who also would see my GMAT scores if i go for an interview. Some such come to our campus for placements. Please help me in this regard. I really appreciate your work and am very impressed. Anticipating your reply,
ARJUN

hello arjun

first of thanks a lot for your kind words about our blog and we will surely do our level best to help you in every possible manner.

by your post i think you are from india.

so i will suggest you as per that only. as far as prepration is concerned
-if you prepare for cat there is not need left for gmat prepration as such as far as quant, reasoning and logic part is concerned.
-the DI section will need a bit more work.

as far as books are concerned there are hell lot of books available.
the best i could suggest you is to join the tata library or delhi library for the best stuff with out paying much.

if not suits you then give me your email address and i will send you a list of 130 books which could be really helpful.

another thing i would like to tell
you is

-it will be very difficult to do everything on your own
we suggest you to join some coaching institute like
-ims
-or carrier launcher

that will be of great help for you

let us know for any query you have or you think is left unanswered

gaurav & kunal
